Baseball Recap: Mcallen's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

McAllen had lost six games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 5-17-3 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the McAllen Memorial Mustangs get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 12-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Geovoni Rodriguez, who gave up just seven hits and racked up seven Ks to keep McAllen Memorial off the board. Rodriguez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Justin Garza, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Lara, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

As for McAllen Memorial, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-12. Considering the last time they couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

On McAllen Memorial's side, Eloy Lozano made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

McAllen will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
