Winters entered their tilt with East Nicolaus on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Spartans get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Jordan Calvert, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep East Nicolaus off the board. Calvert has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Winters saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derrick Collins, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Collins is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another was Sebastian Rodriguez, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Winters' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for East Nicolaus, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-7.

Winters will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
