Preview: Collinsville Pirates vs. Era Hornets
The Collinsville Pirates will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Era Hornets at 8:00 p.m. Era took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Collinsville, who comes in off a win.
Even though Collinsville has not done well against Lindsay recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Collinsville enjoyed a cozy 64-47 victory over Lindsay. With that win, Collinsville brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.
Carter Scott was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Landon Carpenter, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Era's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Muenster.
Collinsville's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Era, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-11.
Everything came up roses for Collinsville against Era in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 86-52 win. Does Collinsville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Era turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
