Gared Wood Delivers Electric Performance Vs Axtell

Gared Wood was instrumental in extending Italy's winning streak to six on Friday. Wood turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 186 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 93 yards.

Wood must have Axtell's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Wood last faced the Longhorns back in October of 2023, he rushed for 240 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 96 yards and a touchdown.

While Heath Mays delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Itasca. Nobody could stop Mays as he rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns.

Itasca's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-4. Mays and Itasca will head out on the road to face off against Rio Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Rio Vista Gets a Boost from Scott in 42-21 Victory

Kaiden Scott posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He threw for 222 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 37 yards.

On the season, Scott has thrown 14 touchdowns while averaging 233.7 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 0.29 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 5.71 rushing yards.

On the year, Moore has averaged 6.1 total tackles per game.
