Baseball Recap: Rio Rico Takes a Loss

Rio Rico extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 12-15 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 9-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Sebastian Delgado was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Pedro Tolano was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

As for Mica Mountain, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 7th.

On Mica Mountain's side, the team relied heavily on Raydon Rocha, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ethan Hunt, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

As of now, neither Rio Rico nor Mica Mountain have any future games scheduled.
