Basketball Recap: Del Norte Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Lashawn Trujillo and Noah Bailey

Del Norte lost against Fowler back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Del Norte Tigers took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fowler Grizzlies.

Del Norte's loss came despite strong showings from Noah Bailey and Lashawn Trujillo. Bailey went 5 of 7 on his way to 18 points, while Trujillo posted seven points and six rebounds. Bailey's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fowler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cael True, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds. That's the most points True has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Bruley McCuistion, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Del Norte now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Fowler, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Del Norte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-38 loss against La Junta on the 13th. As for Fowler, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-39 victory against Vail Mountain on the 13th.
