Viborg/Hurley waltzed into their contest on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Howard Tigers by a score of 56-45. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Tigers are ranked 101st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Viborg/Hurley's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. As for Howard, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
