Basketball Game Preview: Western Panthers vs. Logansport Berries

The Western Panthers will square off against the Logansport Berries at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Western will be strutting in after a victory while Logansport will be coming in after a defeat.

Western is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against University by a score of 64-56 on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Western's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ellyse Walden, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Ella Rawlings, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 15 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhiana Bowman, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Logansport played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Kokomo and fell 66-24. The Berries were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-16.

Western's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Logansport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-14.

Western was dealt a bruising 58-24 loss at the hands of Logansport when the teams last played back in December of 2016. Can Western avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
