Basketball Game Preview: East Gaston Warriors vs. Burns Bulldogs

The East Gaston Warriors will challenge the Burns Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, East Gaston ended up a good deal behind Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy and lost 64-49. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 611th, while the Gryphons are ranked 272nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Burns). They came out on top against Bessemer City by a score of 93-84 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Burns is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for East Gaston, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

East Gaston strolled past Burns when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 78-62. Will East Gaston repeat their success, or does Burns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
