Softball Recap: Bastrop Comes Up Short

If Bastrop was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Richwood on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forest Bulldogs on Thursday. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 5-1.

Jada Anderson led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aerianna Williams, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Bastrop's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12-1. As for Forest, their record now sits at 8-12.

Bastrop wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-6 loss against Summerfield on the 11th. As for Forest, they will head out on the road to take on Doyline at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
