Basketball Recap: Catasauqua Comes Up Short

Catasauqua was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Saucon Valley Panthers. The Rough Riders lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 52-30 score last time.

Leading Saucon Valley to victory were Adam Clark and Jack Robertson. Clark dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Robertson posted 16 points along with five assists and three steals. Those 22 points gave Clark a new career-high.

Catasauqua's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Saucon Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Northwestern Lehigh the next time they take the court. Catasauqua will host Northwestern Lehigh at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, while Saucon Valley will head out to face them at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
