Basketball Recap: Carroll Academy Comes Up Short

Carroll Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 26th straight defeat dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 66-10 to the Fayette Academy Vikings, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 73-21 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Leading Fayette Academy to victory were Clay Anderson and Casey Roy. Anderson posted eight points and four steals, while Roy had seven points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Roy a new career-high in rebounds. Kahne Dozier was another key player, putting up six points.

Carroll Academy's record now sits at 0-8. As for Fayette Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-8 record.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Carroll Academy Jaguars face off against the Trinity Christian Academy Lions at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Trinity Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Carroll Academy likes a good challenge. Fayette Academy has already played their next contest, a 74-57 win against Westminster Academy on the 28th.
