Volleyball Recap: St. Charles Pirates vs. Burroughs Bombers
St. Charles lost against Burroughs back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pirates fell 2-0 to the Bombers.
Rosemary Kuegele paced St. Charles' offense, picking up two kills. Kuegele got some help from Brynn Genebacher and her three assists. Jaylie Deutschmann controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Burroughs can attribute much of their success to Bailey Biggs, who had 11 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Biggs has posted since back in October of 2024. Lexie Gress also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
St. Charles has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Burroughs, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6-1.
St. Charles didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Parkway North on the 13th. As for Burroughs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Howell North on the 13th.
