Softball Recap: Knox Beats Glenn for Their Third Straight Victory

Knox let Glenn stack four runs on them in the fifth inning on Thursday but luckily Knox prevailed anyway. The Redskins came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons, sneaking past 7-6. Winning may never get old, but the Redskins sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Karleigh Friedrich was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Sponaugle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Knox was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Knox's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Glenn, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Knox didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Bremen on the 16th. As for Glenn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-4 win against Prairie Heights on the 17th.
