Softball Game Preview: Seneca Fighting Irish vs. Mercer County Golden Eagles

The Seneca Fighting Irish will face off against the Mercer County Golden Eagles at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Mercer County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Seneca, who comes in off a win.

Seneca is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since April 14th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Biggsville West Central 2-1.

Meanwhile, Mercer County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Manteno.

Jayden Weeks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Seneca's victory bumped their record up to 30-1. As for Mercer County, their loss dropped their record down to 20-10.
