Basketball Recap: Dobyns-Bennett Comes Up Short

Dobyns-Bennett has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 70-45 to the Science Hill Hilltoppers on Tuesday. The Indians lost against the Hilltoppers in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 65-61 score last time.

Dobyns-Bennett's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7. As for Science Hill, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Dobyns-Bennett will square off against Gate City at 8:00 p.m. on January 28th. As for Science Hill, they are taking a road trip to face off against Daniel Boone at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Science Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Daniel Boone likes a good challenge.
