Basketball Recap: Horizon Honors Eagles vs. Tempe Prep Knights

The Horizon Honors Eagles stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tempe Prep 76-43 at home. The win was nothing new for Horizon Honors as they're now sitting on three straight.

Matthew McEnaney was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two blocks for 17 straight games. Another player making a difference was Max Gerelick, who scored 19 points along with two steals.

Horizon Honors is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Tempe Prep, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Horizon Honors has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Pumas at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th. Sequoia Pathway Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Tempe Prep is on the road again on Friday and plays the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (St. Augustine Catholic is ranked 235th, while the Knights are ranked 247th).
