Basketball Recap: Ganado Comes Up Short

Ganado lost against Schulenburg back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ganado Indians came up short against the Schulenburg Shorthorns, falling 44-20. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered against the Shorthorns since January 18, 2022.

Schulenburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jenna Guentert led the charge by putting up eight points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Alana Herzik, who posted 11 points.

Ganado has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. As for Schulenburg, they pushed their record up to 16-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Bloomington the next time they take the court. Ganado will host Bloomington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Schulenburg will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
