Football Recap: Alamosa Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Alamosa and Wellington squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Alamosa had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Eagles and fell 48-0. While losing is never fun, the Mean Moose can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Eagles are ranked 13th).

Wellington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayton Meglen out in front who rushed for 143 yards and one score on only six carries. Meglen got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 80 yards. Tanner Gray was in the mix as well, providing Wellington with three touchdowns.

Alamosa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Wellington, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Alamosa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wellington, they will square off against Resurrection Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' defense has only allowed 12.4 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
