Basketball Recap: Erik Mcgee Key Part of a Team Effort in Lynx Win

Tanalian was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Holy Rosary Academy on Saturday. The Tanalian Lynx blew past the Holy Rosary Academy Knights 59-37. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lynx's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Tanalian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erik McGee, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. McGee is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. Noah Opland was another key player, going 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points and six boards.

Tanalian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Tanalian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Holy Rosary Academy, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
