Volleyball Recap: Notre Dame Prep Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Lucy Solorzano and Cassidy Graninger

Notre Dame Prep suffered their biggest loss since October 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-18, 25-13.

Notre Dame Prep's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cassidy Graninger, who had eight digs, and Lucy Solorzano, who had 11 digs and six kills. Solorzano has been hot, having posted six or more kills the last six times she's played.

Sunrise Mountain was led to victory by Aubree Manning and Kami Milner. Manning had 18 digs, while Milner had seven assists and six digs. That's the most assists Milner has posted since back in November of 2024.

Notre Dame Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Sunrise Mountain, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Notre Dame Prep and Sunrise Mountain should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. The Saints will challenge Arizona College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (11 vs. 80). Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain (ranked third) will meet Cesar Chavez (ranked 190th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
