Baseball Recap: Fruitdale Comes Up Short

Jackson hit Fruitdale with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pirates lost 15-4 to the Aggies. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Aggies from their previous meeting back in March of 2020.

Trenton Turner was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Fruitdale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Jackson, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.

Looking ahead, Fruitdale will head out to challenge Murphy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jackson, they will venture away from home to square off against Leroy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Aggies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
