Basketball Recap: Amador Buffaloes vs. Del Oro Golden Eagles
Amador was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Del Oro Golden Eagles and fell 83-32. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 888th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 182nd).
Del Oro was led to victory by Jayden Tcruz and Hayden Yarnes. Tcruz went 9 for 14 on his way to 19 points in addition to six steals and five boards, while Yarnes went 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points along with six boards and four steals. Those 19 points gave Tcruz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Galer, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points and seven boards.
Amador's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Del Oro, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Amador will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bradshaw Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Del Oro, they will square off against Yuba City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Del Oro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.5 points per game this season.
