Volleyball Recap: Natrona County Mustangs vs. Star Valley Braves
Natrona County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Star Valley Braves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.
While Natrona County ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23, 25-18.
Jos Berens paced Natrona County's offense, picking up nine kills. Berens got some help from Erin Aune and her 15 assists.
Star Valley can attribute much of their success to Camryn Mackey, who had 17 digs. Mackey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played.
Natrona County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Star Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season.
Coincidentally, Natrona County and Star Valley will both be playing Riverton the next time they take the court. The Braves will head out to face the Wolverines at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will host them at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
