Volleyball Recap: Leopold Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Leopold waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Marquand-Zion Tigers 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Leopold was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-9.

Rylie Schreiner paced Leopold's offense, picking up nine kills. Schreiner were helped by Ashtyn Van De Ven and Jocelyn Vandeven, who contributed nine assists each. Piper Lincoln controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Leopold's victory bumped their record up to 24-4-2. As for Marquand-Zion, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Leopold wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Festus on the 11th. As for Marquand-Zion, they will take on Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
