Volleyball Recap: Keystone Heights' Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Keystone Heights lost against Newberry back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Indians fell 3-1 to the Panthers. The loss put an end to the Indians' undefeated start to the season.

Keystone Heights came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 31-29, 22-25, 25-23, 26-24.

Mia Rivera paced Keystone Heights' offense, picking up 19 kills. Rivera got some help from Kaleigh Marquart and her 32 assists. Rivera was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Keystone Heights fell to 2-1. As for Newberry, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Keystone Heights and Newberry will both be playing Suwannee the next time they take the court. The Indians will head out to face the Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
