Football Recap: Warren Central Comes Up Short at Home Against Center Grove

Warren Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Center Grove Trojans at home by a 24-6 margin on Friday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Even if they lost, Warren Central's defense still kept up the pressure with 5.5 sacks. Calvin McDonald was especially locked on to Center Grove's QB and sacked him 2.5 times.

Nolan Rees was nothing short of spectacular for Center Grove: he rushed for 139 yards and two scores. Those 139 rushing yards gave Rees a new career-high.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren Central is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Warsaw at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Center Grove, they will square off against Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
