Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Reese Stringer and Brynn Barry Lead Mira Costa to Victory + How To Watch

Mira Costa had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Newport Harbor Sailors on Wednesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Sailors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Mira Costa was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-23, 25-22.

Leading Mira Costa to victory were Brynn Barry and Reese Stringer. Barry had 19 digs and three assists, while Stringer had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Stringer a new career-high.

Mira Costa's win bumped their record up to 24-9. As for Newport Harbor, they moved to 25-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-match winning streak.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Mira Costa and Marymount will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newport Harbor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
