Basketball Recap: Claiborne Academy Skates Past Lee Academy with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Claiborne Academy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Lee Academy Cougars 58-26. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Claiborne Academy was led to victory by Reagan Feazell and Kyler MonK. Feazell went 9 of 10 to rack up 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Monk went 5 for 9 on his way to 10 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Those six steals gave Monk a new career-high. Maddox Gaston was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Claiborne Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. As for Lee Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
