Basketball Recap: Lee County Takes a Loss

Lee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 70-11 loss at the hands of the Richmond Raiders. The match marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richmond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamyia 'Juicy' Lindsey, who posted 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Lindsey's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasiah 'Jo Jo' Gilchrist, who went 7 of 14 en route to 17 points and six steals.

Lee County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Richmond, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lee County will welcome Scotland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Richmond, they will take on Southern Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Richmond knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Southern Lee likes a good challenge.
