Basketball Game Preview: Irvington Preparatory Academy vs. Monrovia Bulldogs

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Irvington Preparatory Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Page, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Page a new career-high in steals (four). RJ Starks was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine boards.

Irvington Preparatory Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Monrovia came up short against South Putnam on Friday and fell 65-58. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 21-12 in the first quarter.

Monrovia has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
