Baseball Recap: Bound Brook Comes Up Short

Bound Brook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 22-4 to the Delaware Valley Terriers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Terriers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

Gabriel Valentin made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Cruz, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Bound Brook's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Delaware Valley, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bound Brook will venture away from home to take on Somerset Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Delaware Valley, they will head out to face off against Hackettstown at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
