Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Putnam). They blew past the New London Whalers 38-24 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Clippers considering their two-run performance the match before.

Aubrey Paquette made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Paquette was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all seven of her plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season.

Paquette wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madalyn Parquette, who got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with six runs, three stolen bases, and four RBI. Avah Grimshaw was another, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.

Putnam always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .825. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Putnam's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for New London, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
