Basketball Recap: Glynn Academy Comes Up Short

Glynn Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Effingham County Rebels. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Terrors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-45 last Tuesday.

Effingham County can attribute much of their success to Lamar Roberts, who went 8 of 13 en route to 18 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Roberts a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Damion Gordon, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Glynn Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Effingham County, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3.

Glynn Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-37 defeat against Ware County on the 14th. As for Effingham County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-33 loss against Statesboro on the 14th.
