Softball Game Preview: Coral Reef Barracudas vs. Mater Lakes Academy Bears

The Coral Reef Barracudas will square off against the Mater Lakes Academy Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coral Reef is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Coral Reef had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Bishop Verot put an end to it on Saturday. The Barracudas fell 5-2 to the Vikings. The Barracudas' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Quinley Wylie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Mater Lakes Academy came up short against Mater Bay Academy on Thursday and fell 13-9. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coral Reef's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Mater Lakes Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
