Naperville Central is 8-2 against DeKalb since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Redhawks will head out to take on the Barbs at 4:30 p.m. Naperville Central will be strutting in after a victory while DeKalb will be coming in after a defeat.

Naperville Central took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Oswego East 7-1.

Meanwhile, DeKalb came up short against West Aurora on Saturday and fell 8-4. The Barbs have struggled against the Blackhawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

DeKalb saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brodie Farrell, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Ben Nunez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

DeKalb's loss dropped their record down to 15-4-1. As for Naperville Central, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Naperville Central couldn't quite get it done against DeKalb in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Redhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
