Basketball Game Preview: North Decatur Chargers vs. Liberty Christian Lions

The North Decatur Chargers will face off against the Liberty Christian Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with North Decatur sitting on three straight victories and Liberty Christian on six.

North Decatur is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 49-36 win over Edinburgh.

North Decatur's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Owen Rennekamp led the charge by going 5-for-10 en route to 16 points. Rennekamp has become a key player for North Decatur: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least 15 points, but 10-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan O'Dell, who posted 12 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Liberty Christian made easy work of Anderson Prep Academy on Saturday and carried off a 61-40 victory. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Jets are ranked 238th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Liberty Christian's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for North Decatur, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
