Volleyball Recap: Callie Gardner and Ariana Gomez Secure Win for V.R. Eaton

After losing to Rockwall the last time they met, V.R. Eaton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles won by a set and slipped past the Yellowjackets 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

V.R. Eaton was led to victory by Ariana Gomez and Callie Gardner. Gomez had 14 assists and six digs, while Gardner had 12 digs and four assists. Those four assists gave Gardner a new career-high. Landri Trice also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

V.R. Eaton's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Rockwall, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

V.R. Eaton has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Hebron on the 23rd. As for Rockwall, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Northwest on the 23rd.
