Softball Game Preview: Grand County Red Devils vs. Enterprise Wolves

Grand County hasn't had much luck against Enterprise recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 3:30 p.m. Grand County will be strutting in after a victory while Enterprise will be coming in after a loss.

Grand County took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Provo 12-2. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Chloe Byrd made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Ali Butterfield was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Abby Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Grand County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Enterprise finally came back down to earth on Monday. They fell just short of San Juan by a score of 3-1. The loss was the Wolves' first of the season.

Grand County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Enterprise, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
