Basketball Recap: Blaine Comes Up Short

Blaine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 59-40 fall against the Mt. Baker Mountaineers. The game marked the Borderites' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Blaine's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Mt. Baker, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blaine will venture away from home to challenge Lynden Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Lynden Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Blaine likes a good challenge. As for Mt. Baker, they will head out on the road to take on Squalicum at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
