Recap: Tecumseh Braves vs. Gibson Southern Titans
If the Tecumseh Braves were feeling good off their 64-25 takedown of the Mt. Vernon Wildcats on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Tecumseh was beaten by Gibson Southern 77-49 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Tecumseh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Gibson Southern is ranked 34th).
Tecumseh's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alena Holder, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Feather, who scored ten points.
Tecumseh's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Gibson Southern, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tecumseh will take on Vincennes Rivet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gibson Southern, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Washington at 1:30 p.m. Washington is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road.
