After losing to Payne Tech the last time they met, Newark Tech decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Newark Tech Terries pulled ahead with a 56-55 photo finish over the Payne Tech Lions on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Terries.

Newark Tech's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Payne Tech, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newark Tech will take on Bloomfield at 11:30 a.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Payne Tech, they will challenge Eastside at 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2025.
