Football Game Preview: Polo Marcos vs. Hiawatha Hawks

Polo is a perfect 4-0 against Hiawatha since October of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Marcos will face off against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Polo is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: River Ridge, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Polo was ranked seventh). The Marcos took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-8 victory over the Wildcats. The win was nothing new for the Marcos as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, Hiawatha humbled Christian Life/Keith Country Day with a 54-6 victory. The Hawks haven't had any issues with Christian Life/Keith Country Day recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Polo's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Hiawatha, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Polo against Hiawatha when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marcos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
