Baseball Recap: Payette Comes Up Short

Payette managed to slip by Homedale the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pirates lost 9-2 to the Trojans on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Pirates couldn't push the score so high this time.

Payette saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jahzyon Sylva, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base. Another was Michael O'Campo, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Payette has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Homedale, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

While Payette had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
