Basketball Recap: Ranney Comes Up Short

Ranney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 72-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Bank Catholic Caseys. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Ranney of the 82-71 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Ranney's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Red Bank Catholic, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ranney will square off against Christian Brothers Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian Brothers Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Ranney surely won't give up without a fight. As for Red Bank Catholic, they will be playing at home against Middletown South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Bank Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Middletown South likes a good challenge.
