Baseball Game Preview: Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils vs. Tri-Valley Bulldogs

Shenandoah Valley is 0-10 against Tri-Valley since May of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils will face off against the Tri-Valley Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Tri-Valley will be up against a hot Shenandoah Valley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Shenandoah Valley's pitcher stepped up to hand Notre Dame a 16-0 shutout on Thursday.

Landon Monaghan was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

In other batting news, Chase McCole and Brayden Maksimik did most of the damage at the plate: McCole went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs, while Maksimik scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave McCole a new career-high in doubles. John Burke was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Shenandoah Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Tri-Valley made easy work of Nativity BVM on Wednesday and carried off a 9-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Shenandoah Valley's record now sits at 3-0. As for Tri-Valley, their record now sits at 2-0.

Shenandoah Valley came up short against Tri-Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 5-2. Can Shenandoah Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
