Softball Recap: Herscher Beats Reed-Custer for Their Third Straight Win

Herscher had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Reed-Custer Comets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on Monday.

Herscher let Keira Ahramovich and Liv Wilkins run wild. Ahramovich fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-3, while Wilkins fired off two home runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Wilkins has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Chloe Kinkade, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Herscher lost a few balls and finished the game with five home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Herscher's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Reed-Custer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Herscher will venture away from home to take on Morris at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Reed-Custer, they will host Gardner-South Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
