Mahopac's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lakeland Hornets 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolf Pac have posted since April 30, 2024.

Jeremy O'Keefe tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Vince Cataldo, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Mascoll, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

The win got Mahopac back to even at 1-1. As for Lakeland, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Mahopac didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Fox Lane on the 10th. As for Lakeland, they have also already played their next match, a 9-5 win against Byram Hills on the 8th.
