Softball Game Preview: Bandera BULLDOGS vs. Wimberley Texans

Bandera hasn't had much luck against Wimberley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The BULLDOGS will square off against the Texans at 7:00 p.m. Bandera has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bandera is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game on Friday. They lost 18-0 to Fredericksburg.

Meanwhile, Wimberley narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Canyon Lake 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Texans in their matchups with Canyon Lake: they've now won six in a row.

Charlotte Woodward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grace Strobel was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma L, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Wimberley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-14. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Bandera, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-17.

Bandera might still be hurting after the 17-2 loss they got from Wimberley in their previous meeting back in March. Can the BULLDOGS avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
