Soccer Recap: Pisgah Takes a Loss

If Pisgah was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Yazoo County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dragons fell just short of the Neshoba Central Rockets by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. Pisgah were not able to make up for their loss to Neshoba Central from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Pisgah's goal came courtesy of Ellie Hill, who's now up to nine this season.

With the defeat, Pisgah broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 6-2-1. As for Neshoba Central, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Pisgah will square off against Franklin County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Neshoba Central, they will face off against Canton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neshoba Central will be up against Canton's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.4 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
